Erzgebirge Aue vs Karlsruher 2.Bundesliga Predictions 22nd May 2018

Erzgebirge Aue vs Karlsruher
Germany – 2. Bundesliga Relegation Play-off
Date: Tuesday, 22 May 2018
Kick-Off at 17:15 UK/ 18:15 CET
Venue: Erzgebirgsstadion (Aue).

Erzgebirge Aue are going to host Karlsruher in the second leg of the playoffs for the place in 2. Bundesliga.

In a thrilling finish of the regular season, the hosts managed to avoid a direct relegation, but also failed to secure the survival. They are in a very bad form as they snatched just a point from the last five matches. Hannes Drews’ side hasn’t been too bad in general, but this winless streak costed them of slipping to the relegation playout spot.

Karlsruher ended as 3rd in 3. Liga, and they have been playing very well this season. However, although they are excellent when playing in front of their fans, Fabian Schleusener and the lads were held to a 0-0 draw in the first leg clash. The visitors know how to snatch some points from their away matches and they will certainly try to get the promotion. Actually, a majority of their games in the regular season have had low number of goals.

Erzgebirge Aue v Karlsruher: Head-to-head

Both sides have been equally successful in their latest head to head clashes but we haven’t seen an away victory since 2011. Their clashes are usually pretty tight and their last three games stayed below 2.5 margin.

Erzgebirge Aue v Karlsruher: Prediction

This one is also going to be tight and one error of extraordinary move could solve the match. It wouldn’t be surprising if we see another draw since the hosts are not too convincing. None team has a reason to rush forward here and leave space for the counter attacks.

Another low scoring game is expected as that’s almost a tradition in their head to head clashes and besides that, they were both involved in low scoring games lately.
