Atalanta vs Genoa
Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 29 April 2018
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK,
Venue: Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia (Bergamo).
Atalanta are unbeaten in their last four games and they will be hoping to further consolidate their grip on a Europa League berth as they face Genoa on Sunday.
La Dea presently find themselves in sixth spot coming into this game after successfully seeing off struggling Udinese last round. They have leapfrogged both AC Milan and Sampdoria into this position following the Rossoneri’s shock defeat to Benevento and have surged four points clear of Fiorentina with the Viola dealing with a downward turn of results as of late.
Having featured in the Europa League this term, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have been desperate to make a swift return to the competition, and as things stand, they will again be gracing the stage next season. They have had their ups and downs as they at times struggled to balance competing on multiple fronts, but lately have largely righted the wobbly ship and will aim to finish the season on as strong a footing as feasible.
Meanwhile, Genoa, for their part, seem to have finally weathered the crisis that had been plaguing them all term. At one point, the Grifone were actually sitting in the drop zone. In fact, prior to Ivan Juric’s sacking and the hiring of current boss Davide Ballardini, they had won just one game, leaving them in a dismal 18th place.
Since then, save for a few blips here and there, it has been pretty much onwards and upwards. They notably halted Roma’s away winning streak and beat Inter 2-0 during a mostly decent run, and as a result now sit just outside the top half of the table.

Atalanta vs Genoa: Prediction
Genoa have failed to score in three of their last four away games so could struggle again here. The Grifone are right where they need to be and just may try to coast through until May. Atalanta, meanwhile have been on an uptick of form as of late and have now surpassed Milan, Sampdoria and Fiorentina, so should be able to pick up a win here.
