Arsenal vs West Ham
2018/19 English Premier League
Date: Saturday 25th August 2018
Kick off at 15:00 UK/ 16:00 CET
Venue: Emirates Stadium (London).

Arsenal manager Unai Emery will be under pressure now to beat West Ham as his first two games for the Gunners have ended in defeats. Some fans have even suggested that they are missing legendary manager Arsene Wenger.

The good news for Emery is that he is being forgiven by the mass majority of fans as he has just stepped into the job and had to already face Manchester City and Chelsea, where the Gunners conceded 5 goals against them. That aside Arsenal will be expected to beat West Ham, however these two teams are fierce rivals and the Hammers will be up for this game.

West Ham have also lost their first two games of the season which will come as a disappointment to the fans given they have a new manager in Manuel Pellegrini and have invested in players. They were destroyed 4-0 by Liverpool in the opening day of the season and then lost at home against Bournemouth 2-1 which was seen as a very poor result.

Arsenal vs West Ham: Head to Head

  • In the last 5 competitive games Arsenal have scored 13 goals past West Ham.
  • Last season this same fixture ended 4-1 to Arsenal.

Arsenal vs West Ham: Prediction

Arsenal have a lot of quality in their team and it will be interesting to see them attack against a lesser quality team in West Ham.

This could be and should be Unai Emery’s first win as Arsenal manager, if not the knives will be out and the pressure will be raised to maximum. But we can’t see past anything than an Arsenal victory, and we will take their price but with a handicap start.

Watch out for Mesut Ozil who has something to prove after he has been heavily criticised in the English press, this could be his platform to have a great game and perhaps get a goal too.
