This Sunday will witness the first of the North London Derbies of the English Premier League season 2015/16 when Arsenal play hosts to Tottenham Hotspur. The match scheduled to be played on 8th November 2015, 16hrs GMT at the Emirates Stadium, London.
Arsenal has been the dominant side among the two, winning 18 matches out of the 44 derbies among them and losing only 8 since the introduction of the Premier League in 1992. But this season, the Spurs are a different team brimming with confidence after having stayed undefeated since their opening day loss to Manchester United in August.
The Gunners are coming on to the match on the back of a disappointing 5-1 away defeat to Bayern Munich in their mid-week Champions League fixture. Their head coach had slammed the team’s defense in the wake of the dismal show and called up for swift improvements. On a positive note, Arsenal are flying high the league in recent weeks with 5 comprehensive wins in a row.
Tottenham Hotspurs on the other hand are coming to the derby on the back of a hard fought 2-1 win over Anderlecht in their Thursday’s Europa League group match. Even though a little less glamorous than their London rivals, the Spurs had grown into a toughest opposition to break down in this season’s campaign.
