Arsenal vs Swansea, English Premier League, Match-Day 28.
Kickoff: 19:45 GMT, Wednesday, 2-March-2016.
Arsenal look to bring some life back to their league campaign after a routine defeat at Man United when they face relegation threatened Swansea at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.
The previous week has been one to forget for the Gunners as they suffered defeat at home to Barcelona, followed by a humbling defeat to a depleted Manchester United in the Premier League weekend. The gap between Leicester has widened to five points and Arsenal are in a spot of bother as they can be thrown out of top four if they don’t lift their game in the next few weeks.
Swansea defeat to Tottenham on Sunday has left them winless in the last four league games. They are currently 16th in the league, just 3 points clear of relegation zone and failing to take any points on Wednesday could see them drop to 18th.
Last Five Premier League Matches
Arsenal have won just twice in their last 7 league games and are finding it difficult to win matches both home and away. The Gunners have scored 2 goals in their last three matches, before failing to score a single goal in the previous three.
Swansea’s away form this season is pretty poor and have managed just 2 wins in 13 matches so far. After a disatrous start to the season, Swasea are still trying to stabilize their ship and have shown some improvments under the new manager as their last 6 matches produced 2 wins and 2 draws. At the same time they have lost the last two matches leaving them without a win in four matches.
Arsenal: Team News
Arsene Wenger will be without the injured Rosicky, Carzorla, Wilshere and Chamberlain for this fixture against Swansea. The back-to-back defeats certainly ring bell for changes and Giroud could replace Theo Walcot in the starting line-up. The performance of Alexis Sanchez is a big worry for the French boss and it will be interesting to see if Joel Campbell gets the nod ahead of the Chilean winger.
Arsenal Predicted Line-up (4-2-3-1)
Cech – Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal, Bellerin – Ramsey, Coquelin – Sanchez, Ozil, Welbeck – Giroud.
Swansea: Team News
Swansea head-coach Francesco Guidolin has no injury worries and has a fully fit squad at this disposal.
Swansea Predicted Lineup (4-3-1-2)
Fabianski – Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Naughton – Cork, Britton, Leroy Fer – Sigurdsson – Ayew, Paloschi.
Arsenal vs. Swansea: Head-to-Head Stats
Arsenal were comfortable winners when the teams met in the reverse fixture of this seasons campaign by a comfortable 3-0 scoreline. However, Arsenal’s head-to-head record against Swansea in Premier League at the Emirates stadium is a poor one as they have failed to win in the last three meetings.
Arsenal vs. Swansea: Prediction
Arsenal are on a three match losing streak in all competitions and Arsene Wenger desperately need a win. The team definitely has the quality and its time for misfiring players like Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott to raise to their potential. And this could be a perfect opportunity for them as they are up against a Swansea side who are poor on the road.[interaction id=”56d41552ac5895475cced11c”]
