A rejuvenated Arsenal look to maintain their unbeaten run when they host League One outfit Doncaster for the Carabao Cup third round fixture on Wednesday evening, 20th September 2017.

The Gunners were unlucky to have drawn blank in the North London derby against arch rivals Chelsea. They had the better of the chances and matched the Blue’s in ball possession.

Wenger’s men look like a completely different team since they got mauled by Liverpool 4-0 at Anfield just before the international break. Since then, Arsenal bagged back-to-back wins, 3-0 against Bournemouth and 3-1 versus Koln, both at the Emirates Stadium.

On the other hand, Doncaster are coming on the back of a fiver match win-less run in League One fixtures. Also, they lost three on the bounce, all by a single goal margin. Their last win in a competitive game came in the second round of League Cup, when they surprised Championship outfit Hull City 2-0 at their home turf.

The teams met in the league cup back in 2005 at Doncaster’s home ground. The Gunners had to work really hard and only managed to survive the tie in the lucky lot of penalty-shoot. It was an absolute thriller as the match saw score-lines of 1-1 after 90 minutes, which later become 2-2 at the end of extra time.

Arsenal vs Doncaster: Prediction

Wenger is expected to rest majority of his key players with the main focus shirt to catch up some ground in the Premier League. Doncaster’s poor run of form and the fact that the match being played at the Emirates will let him to do this with confidence. Yet, these changes are going to have no effect on the outcome of this fixture, which will be a comfortable Arsenal win.
