Arsenal target three players for midfield reinforcement

Arsenal might be flying in high colors in the English Premier League season, but an array for injuries and lack of sufficient back up to the squad may put their title quest in danger.

At the moment, they are at touching distance from become league leaders, but the squad is rocked by a series of injury setbacks in the central midfield. Both Coquelin and Cazorla, who were instrumental in Arsenal’s success in recent months are sidelined and a realistic date for comeback could not be set.

It is imminent that Arsene Wenger has to buy when the transfer window opens in January as the likes of Thomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta seems to have passed their best. And Jack Wilshere is yet to make a single appearance for the club this season.

These three players could be the welcome addition in January as cited in various media outlets.

1. Mohamed El Nenny

At the age of just 23-years old, El Nenny has been a key player for FC Basel in their Europa League campaign this season. An anchoring midfielder by trade, he is also capable of getting forward when necessary.

The latest report according to Swiss media Aargauer Zeitung, Arsenal are keen to strike a deal with Basel for the player which may fall in the region of £10m.

He is already capped 39 times by the Egypt national team and have made 150 senior appearances for Basel.

He may not a high profile catch for the Gunners, but his lower price tag means he is a realistic purchase for Wenger.
