The Bitter rivalry between these two great managers took a wild contrasting dimension on Saturday as Wenger’s Arsenal went top of the Premier League for just 24hrs and Mourinho’s Chelsea lost again with Mourinho being sent to the stands.
Mourinho once called Wenger “a specialist in failure”, but now the table looks to be turning around with Mourinho loosing series of matches while sitting on the other end of London, Arsene Wenger has heaped in a pile of wins.
Wenger must be a much delighted man after his team’s performance in the 2-1 win over Everton at the Emirates Stadium, momentarily firing his team to the top of the Premier League table.
There is much more to send the Arsenal fans into raptures in recent weeks, Arsenal are now on five match winning streak in competitive matches and have scored 10 goals at an average of 2.5 goals per match while conceding only just once.
Arsenal’s emphatic 2-0 win against Bayern Munich is much savored by the Gunner’s fans and many pundits have heaped praise on the Frenchman for the tactics he deployed during the must-win match.
Since the start of the season Chelsea are finding it hard to find their feet on the ground and the 2-1 loss to London rivals West Ham on the matchday 10, saw them dropped to 15th in the Premier League table.
Much more controversy arises during the match, as Jose Mourinho got sent-off during the half-time break and Chelsea took filed for the second time with a man-less and manager-less.
Chelsea fan’s were left heartbroken after Cesc Fabregas’ first half goal was disallowed and they were later reduced to 10 men after Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic was sent off.
Chelsea’s fifth defeat of the season pushed West Ham united to 3rd place with 20 points ahead of Manchester United on goal difference and Arsenal got their 4th consecutive victory with 22 points from 10 games keeping them second on the table below Manchester City on goal difference.
However, Mourinho failed to show up to the Post-match news conference and FA has once againt taken note of the Portuguese manager’s attitude and they will be in for new disciplinary sanctions soon.
Mourinho has been involved in many controversies this season, starting with the falling out of former first team doctor Eva Carneiro on the opening day. It is only recently, he was again on the center on another controversy and was fined £50,000 by FA for accusing referees in a press-conference on the aftermath of 1-3 defeat to Southampton.
To make matters even worse, Mourinho is on the verge of a stadium ban, and he is now waiting for the FA ruling for not attending the media and for the red card he received on Satruday.
The things are not very well at Stamford Bridge at the moment with the Blues owner Abrahamovic has lost patience with the Mourinho and reports are already suggesting that the sack is looming over Jose, if he fails to win the next Premier League match against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
It finally seems like Arsenal and Wenger has something to celebrate for the moment with their team’s hot run of form, while Mourinho has witnessed his old and tired tactics start misfiring to send him in a state of misery.
