Algeria vs Tanzania
Date: Thursday, 22 March 2018
Kick-Off at 17:00 UK
Venue: Stade du 5 Juillet 1962 (Algeria).
Tanzania will have the chance to play one of the strongest sides on the continent on Thursday evening when they travel to Africa’s North to play Algeria in friendly. The gulf in quality between the two sides is massive and the hosts come into the game as massive favourites to boost up their confidence ahead of a much stronger test five days later when they meet World Cup contestant Iran.
Fennec Foxes had a dismal campaign at the recently finished WC Qualifications and they won’t travel to Russia this summer in spite of having a respectable lineup featuring some of the Premier League stars. Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani are the leaders of the team, but they’ve failed to produce as Algeria have only scored the total of 4 goals in six qualifying matches in the group B. They’ve ended at the rock-bottom of the standings with only two points in six affairs.
Tanzania, on the other side, could not pass the second stage of the WQC Qualification where they’ve suffered a demolishing elimination just to Algeria (9-2 on aggregate, 7-0 loss on the road). They have featured CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup back in December last year where they lost each of three games to the sides of Zanzibar, Rwanda and Kenya.
Algeria vs Tanzania: Head-to-head
Interestingly, three of previous four H2H encounters between these two rivals ended without a winner.
Algeria have, however, claimed a demolishing 7-0 victory when the two teams met in the second stage of the WC Qualification.
Algeria vs Tanzania: Prediction
Tanzania just don’t have quality to match Algeria and we can’t back anything else but a comprehensive victory for the hosts.
Also, since Algeria’s defensive line has revealed plenty of holes at the back during the WC Qualifications, we will alternatively try with the BTTS option at the odds of 2.30.
