Albania vs Bosnia-Herzegovina
Date: Tuesday, 28th March 2017
Kick-Off at 17:00 UK / 18:00 CET
Venue: Elbasan Arena.
Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina will take on each other in a very interesting friendly match on Tuesday evening at Elbasan Arena.
The visitors are in a much better position in their WC Qualification campaign as they, unlike the Albanians, have more than realistic chances of catching one of the top two spots in their group.
Albania did not have much luck with the groups draw after they managed to feature the major competition for the first time ever at EURO 2016 in France.
The team led by Giani de Biasi lost three of their five qualifiers to Spain, Israel and Italy to practically lose all hopes for making it to Russia 2018.
Edin Dzeko and Senad Lulic will be back in the Bosnian team after they skipped the qualifier with Gibraltar. Mehmed Bazdarevic allowed Miralem Pjanic to leave for Turin and miss the friendly with Albania which will be a serious handicap because the Juve’s midfielder is the key man in the national team.
We can expect the visitors to mix up their lineup and try new players including Kenan Kodro, Armin Hodzic, Riad Bajic, Danijal Pavlovic etc etc.
Albania vs Bosnia-Herzegovina: Head to head
Interestingly, Bosnia-Herzegovina played their first ever match as a national team just against Albania.
It happened in November 1995 when the Albanian side took a 2-0 victory. The Bosnians were more successful from the EC Qualification campaign before EURO 2012 having taken four points from two games with Albania.
Albania vs Bosnia-Herzegovina: Prediction
The draw seems to be the most realistic of the three outcome options because both sides are expected to mix up their line-ups.
We don’t see the visiting team losing, though, which gives a decent value to Bosnia-Herzegovina or draw bet at the odds of 2/5.
