AC Milan vs Lazio: Prediction
Following a disappointing 1-2 defeat at Olimpico vs injury-hit Roma last weekend, the Rossoneri bounced back with a narrow win over lowly SPAL and moved to 10th position in the Serie A standings. Spanish midfielder Suso, not fans’ favourite by the way, came off the bench to score the sole goal and hand Stefano Pioli his first win as Milan boss at the third time of asking. They will be looking to record back-to-back home wins when they take on Lazio this Sunday at San Siro.
Everyone except left-back Rodriguez are fit to play. There are no suspensions in the team.
The Biancocelesti extended their unbeaten run in the league to five games after securing a comprehensive 4-0 win over Torino in the midweek. Leading Serie A goalscorer Ciro Immobile was hailed as hero once again as he scored a brace to take his goal tally to 12 for the season. With five wins, three draws and two losses, Lazio are sitting at 6th position with five points ahead of their next opponent and equal on points with two teams.
Backup goalie Silvio Proto is still out with an injury.
AC Milan numbers are not impressive. They have 2-1-2 record at San Siro with an average of one goal scored per game, whilst conceding 1.40 per tie. Five of their last six Serie A games had over 2.5 goals and BTTS – Yes.
Lazio are way more fun, especially on the road where they tend to concede more. With 2-1-2 record away from home, Simone Inzaghi’s men are averaging 1.60 goals scored per bout, whilst allowing 1.20. 80% of their away games had over 2.5 goals and BTTS came in three times.
Even though head-to-head strongly supports under 2.5 here, I just can’t follow that. Not with red-hot Ciro Immobile. The guests have scored 15 goals in last five Serie A outings.
We should see an entertaining game with goals on both ends and I will take that and add Over 2.5 goals to the mix as I have 2-2 hunch here.
