AC Milan vs Inter Milan
Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 4 March 2018
Kick-Off: 19:45 UK,
Venue: Stadio San Siro (Milan).
AC Milan have been in impressive form as of late. The only team to score against them in regulation time as of late across all comps was Udinese – and that was back in January. That includes shutting out Lazio over 180 minutes to earn themselves a spot in the finals of the Coppa Italia. In addition, the Rossoneri are into the round of 16 of the Europa League against Arsenal, and with the Gunners struggling in the Premier League lately, Gennaro Gattuso’s men surely must be fancying their chances to also get the job done to book their spot in the quarter-finals, too.
Next up for them is a showdown with cross-town rivals Inter in the famous Derby della Madonnina. The Nerazzurri, meanwhile, have not been in their best form lately and although they sit seven points ahead of the Rossoneri, Luciano Spalletti’s men surely will be worried about how the Diavolo have been doing these days. They come into this game having won, but beating Benevento 2-0 is the norm rather than a surprise and Inter have fallen apart horribly since jumping to the top of the table at the start of December.
Since then they have crashed out of the Scudetto race and are barely hanging on to a Champions League berth. Right now they are battling for a spot along with Lazio and Roma, who will lock horns with Juventus and Napoli respectively on Saturday, so things could get really interesting in the top four even before this fixture kicks off on Sunday evening.
Milan are unbeaten in their last 13 across all comps, showing that former midfielder Gattuso has finally righted the wobbly ship. They’re unbeaten in their last six here at home and are looking good to get the better of their cross town rivals ahead of their exciting Europa League clash with Arsenal next week.

The latest duel between the sides happened in the Copa Italia in December which was won by AC Milan by a 1-0 margin in the added extra time.

The numbers from last four Serie A h2h meetings is even with both teams winning in 1 and 2 ending in draws.
An away team haven’t won this league clash since 2012, a streak of 10 games which saw the team playing at home winning in 6 along with 4 draws.
AC Milan vs Inter Milan: Prediction
Mauro Icardi has been unusually quiet as of late, but don’t discount him – he certainly likes to score at this ground. Milan will need to obviously ensure they pay special attention to him as he isn’t the second-highest marksman in Serie A by accident. That being said, Gattuso seems to have finally found his formula for this side and the Rossoneri are on a kick as of late. They should be able to come out on top here – despite their Coppa Italia match going all the way to penalties after 120 minutes.
