AC Milan vs Bologna
2016/17 Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 21 May 2017
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK,
Venue: Stadio San Siro (Milan).
Will AC Milan try to make a serious push for a European spot? The Rossoneri have two games to decide whether they will feature in the Europa League or now, and with Fiorentina just one point behind, they will have to make up their minds ahead of Bologna’s visit this Sunday.
As the Rossoneri figure things out, Bologna don’t have much to worry themselves. The Rossoblu, despite sitting in 15th spot, are in no danger of relegation. They come into this game having earned a 3-1 win over Pescara to secure their spot, and in their last away fixture scored two against Atalanta.
Whilst they ended up losing the game, they put up a good fight and were very close to snatching a third goal to earn a point. Considering La Dea are a tough customer at home – with impressive results against Roma, Napoli, and Juventus – Bologna’s performance was solid enough, even if they didn’t pick up any points from that game.
Milan, by contrast, have been quite poor as of late. After cruising to a 4-0 win over Palermo, the wheels seem to have come off for Vincenzo Montella’s side. Some may wonder if they even want to play in the Europa League, as they have earned just three points from their past five games. That’s three out of a possible 15, including shock loss to Empoli at home and a draw against Crotone on the road.
The hosts have lost their past two games at this ground, including a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Roma and that surprise 2-1 reversal to Empoli. Their fans will be hoping to see the team make amends, naturally. Can they get back on track in their penultimate game? Or will Bologna manage to cause them problems at the San Siro on Sunday?

AC Milan vs Bologna: Prediction
The last fixture between the two sides ended as a 1-0 win for Milan, but it was far from a convincing performance. Bologna were the better side, but the Rossoneri snatched a goal despite going down to nine men. Given that the Rossoblu have scored in eight out of their last 10 away games, and Milan have conceded 10 goals in their last five games, expect both teams to score in this clash. The onus will be on Milan, obviously, to win this game, as they have lost just one out of their last 14 meetings with their upcoming opponents.
